The four buttons are the menu, home, back and search buttons. There is an LG logo located toward the top of the front of the screen. On the left side of the phone, there is a microUSB port for charging your phone as well as an HDMI port. The HDMI port allows the user to conveniently connect their device with you television. On the right side of the phone there is a volume toggle switch. Below the volume switch is a 3D button. This button allows the user to conveniently go between 3D and 2D. The screen on the LG thrill is a 4.3 inch TFT display screen. It is a capacitive screen that is more receptive than a non-capacitive, resistive screen. What makes the screen more desirable than the average phone is that this screen has the ability to be 3D. The user does not need glasses to see the 3D effects. The effects are not like you would see in the movies either. Instead of things popping out at you, the screen appears as though you can look in to it. The great thing about the device is that you have the option to turn the 3D screen off when you are not really using it.

The phone is equipped with the Android 2.2 FroYo operating system. It runs on a 1000 MHz Dual Core Texas Instruments OMAP4 processor. The phone also has a recent version of Bluetooth, an accelerometer, a compass, and a built in GPS.

The battery life of the LG Thrive is a little above average. It is equipped with a 1500 mAh battery and can withstand up to 7 hours and 30 minutes of talk time.
